April 28, 2012 Coffee Shop

Bill and I went into Lakeland to check out the new coffee house, Black & Brew. Is that clever or what? :) It was a great coffee place and the atmosphere conducive to writing. Then I spotted rows of wine there! This is a coffee house with a kick. Life is definitely good. As luck would have it, we ran into a street festival and had a marvelous lake kind of day.

Judy McBroom Roney Shary, the festival was wonderful. I thought it was all antiques and I was disappointed going in but thought it would be a wonderful stroll. They had so many cool things and the prices in most cases were great. They are having another art fair mother's day weekend. I think it's Mayfaire. I might ask my daughter to take me to that or all of us go. It's so pretty there right now on the lakes.

Second Plant City Writers group last night. I was worried of course...how many people would show, etc. We were a group of five and it went very well. Of course, it helps if you have Florida Writers Association's regional director there to field questions and give information. Thanks, Eugene!

Judy McBroom Roney Steve, received your book and haven't put it down! I expected a humorous bent on prostate cancer (because of the name and cover) and I was interested in how you could achieve that perspective. You have blown me away with your writing style and most of all with content. I haven't had to face cancer myself but I relate because my husband had bladder cancer and so many loved ones have been affected by this scourge. What surprised me greatly is how helpful and enlightening your book is to my every day life even if I had never known anyone with cancer.( impossible I realize) I will be rereading and going back to reread all the pages I have marked and will definitely hand it over to my husband. I am so impressed with you and what you have accomplished in your life. I have loved your sister for many years as one of my dearest friends. I have enjoyed getting to know her brother and sister-in-law so well through your writing.

April 23, 2012

I realize that the posts don't mean much without the replies so I'm posting those, too. My blog..so I can do that. :)

I was lost on an incredible road where the oaks formed an umbrella over the street and sun still found it's way in the pastures and fields. There were horses and ponds, houses sitting on acres of land, red barns and wild flowers. It all felt like a dream and a step back in time for me when I noticed a huge white tent (it was once white..perhaps a taupe tent. :) and a plank of wood stationed near by that said REVIVAL in uneven red letters. There were a few cars there and I've a mind to wander on over there to see if a tent revival today is the same as it was so many years ago when I was growing up. I'm glad I got lost. :)
