Mary McBroom's Bachelorette Party

My niece, Mary, is getting married next weekend. This past weekend was her bachelorette party in Waynesville, Asheville, and Maggie Valley. Becky, her twin sister, planned the event and they invited their Mom and two of their aunts.
I was one of those aunts and Susie, Brenda's sister, was the other. I was delighted to be invited and we had such a good time.
Friday Bill and I met some of the girls coming in earlier, including Mary and Brenda, at Smackers. Then I went over to Al and Brenda's cabin where the lingerie party was being held that night. Mary got some cool things.

I had a hard time deciding between flannel PJ's and footed PJ's. I decided on flannels. LOL

We played pin the kiss on the hot guy and watched the Tennessee Alabama Game on TV. That game was not a wise choice because TN was beaten soundly by Alabama. sigh

Brenda, Susie and I came to our cabin here in Maggie so the girls could have the cabin to themselves.

The next day we spent in Asheville and went to the Spa of Biltmore for a bridal shower time. We had spa treatments and shopped at the Village.
The weather was perfect once again. Saturday night we had fondue at Al & Brenda's cabin and desserts and drinks.
Brenda, Susie and I came back to our cabin and Bill cooked breakfast for all of us the next morning. They all came over and we had a wonderful relaxing breakfast and coffee with the leaves in all shades of autumn on the mountains.
The bachelorette party is just a wonderful memory now and we all look forward to the wedding next Saturday. The wedding will also be a two day affair and three days for those who arrive early enough. Friday night there will be a Low Country Boil in a nearby park and I'm really looking forward to that.
Mary looks wonderful. She will wear her mother, Brenda's wedding dress, which really touches me. I didn't realize it was Brenda's wedding gown.
The wedding will be rather casual and I'm still trying to figure out what to wear.
Something fall-ish I hope if the weather remains cool.

Happy, Happy

In October each year my daughter, Angie, and I decided to have a Happy, Happy celebration in Tennessee where she, my granddaughters, their partners, and my great grandsons live. It's called Happy, Happy because we celebrate everything Bill and I miss during the year including birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
This second annual Happy, Happy touched me so deeply. My daughter and granddaughter cooked lasanga one night and then for Happy Happy my daughter and all my granddaughters cooked dinner for us. It's gratifying to know what good cooks they are. They do not get that from me. LOL Everything was made from scratch and incredibly delicious.
Bill and I gave them all gifts and they gave us some precious ones as well. We were so touched with the thoughtfulness in the gifts. We had said no gifts for us but they didn't listen. We will have to be more forceful next year. ;)
I have started to upload my photos. I have had computer problems but cable guy fixed them today so I should be able to upload them now.
For now, Bill and I are still floating on a cloud thinking about the time we spent there with our loved ones and the memories we made. Our great grandsons are so precious. We just see their faces whenever we think of them. They are so cute (did I already say that?)LOL It's hard to think that I won't see them probably until next summer. We sure have some good memories to see us through though.
I am so proud of my granddaughters and the men they have chosen. When I'm not there I'm thinking about them. Life is really grand and now my family is growing in leaps and bounds. We are so looking forward to the new addition, Kaylee. It won't be long now.

October

Bill made it here from Florida on Saturday in record time. It is so glad being with him and having him in the house here. Lexi and I are fighting over him I think. LOL Today we went to church in the morning and then out to breakfast and scouting out a few places that might have spas for my niece, who is having her sister's bachelorette party here in a couple weeks. My niece will be getting married in about three more weeks and we are all really looking forward to that. So many good things happening this month. Another niece, sister to the two I mentioned is having her baby around the end of this month as well.
Speaking of exciting times and celebrations; getting ready to head for Tennessee and the Happy Happy celebration that we have at my daughter's to celebrate all the holidays and occasions we miss throughout the year. I'm so excited I can hardly sleep but tomorrow is going to be a busy day so I'd best get some sleep.
This place is so gorgeous with the leaves changing colors. We took Lexi and went to Lake Junaluska for a walk and the place is just mesmerizing and every step we took provided another beautiful view. That is such a beautiful place. We are fortunate to live so close to the lake here AND be in the mountains. The view from the house here over the mountains is breathtaking as well. Life is so good.

EWomen Simulcast

I attended the Extradordinary Women Simulcast at Long's Chapel on Saturday. What a motivational and inspirational bunch of women. I will add men to it by saying that Charles Billingsley and New Song provided music and singing. Some of the women speaking: Karen Kingsbury, Sheri Rose Shepherd, Chondra Pierce, and Angela Thomas. I had never heard any of these women speak or the singers sing so it was all a treat for me. I feel motivated and inspired for sure. I am amazed that they are so accomplished as speakers and women and they have each been through their own hells of one kind of another. Makes me realize we are all alike in so many ways; but they came through the fire to become more. I wish that for all of us.
