Judy McBroom Roney THE STORY Behind the Photo: Bill was in the service at McDill AFB and he worked a part time job at Zayre's Discount Dept Store so he could send money to his mom. I worked at Zayre's. We had no money. I bought the wedding dress you see for $14.00 at Zayre's. We did not intend to have a formal wedding; just a courthouse wedding. Expense being the major thing. However, our fellow employees at Zayre's wanted us to have a wedding. They did everything, paid for everything, set it up, etc. We were married in a church in Tampa and the reception was in a Sunday School room (with a chalkboard). The only people wanting us to be together as much as Bill and me and Zayre's employees was Bill's Air Force friends. We received everything at the reception that we could have dreamed of and the most important was everyone's participation and blessing. The wedding is a wonderful memory. The people who gathered round us were amazing people.

Judy McBroom Roney THE STORY Behind the Photo: Bill was in the service at McDill AFB and he worked a part time job at Zayre's Discount Dept Store so he could send money to his mom. I worked at Zayre's. We had no money. I bought the wedding dress you see for $14.00 at Zayre's. We did not intend to have a formal wedding; just a courthouse wedding. Expense being the major thing. However, our fellow employees at Zayre's wanted us to have a wedding. They did everything, paid for everything, set it up, etc. We were married in a church in Tampa and the reception was in a Sunday School room (with a chalkboard). The only people wanting us to be together as much as Bill and me and Zayre's employees was Bill's Air Force friends. We received everything at the reception that we could have dreamed of and the most important was everyone's participation and blessing. The wedding is a wonderful memory. The people who gathered round us were amazing people.

Judy McBroom Roney Lynne, I sure do remember the SW retreat at our house. Bill still gets this strange smile when we talk about him being in the middle of all those women. He also remembers the poetry! Still trying to remember whose poem was obviously sucking up to Bill Roney, and wondering if that was was of the winning poems. LOL
