Visit with a Donkey

On the way to Mike and June's house the other day, we passed by this field where a donkey was by a fence so, we stopped. He had some personality. Here are a few pictures of the donkey and Bill.

Hey, Judy: Love the donkey pictures. We are thinking about getting one, because we are planning on getting pygmy goats in the spring. Why a donkey you say? Because they are so loud and obnoxious when a predator is nearby, that the predator usually tucks it's tail and runs. This is true. People around here who have any livestock always keep a donkey to protect them. Our neighbours to the south have one, they are probably 15 acres away from us, and every day we hear "hee-haw, hee-haw". Their donkey is a very quiet donkey, but the donkeys owners love to get drunk and scream "hee-haw, hee-haw". Oh well, such is life with Okie Rednecks...

Darrell, how interesting that donkeys are protectors because they are so obnoxious and loud that they run predators away. That makes me laugh, especially when I realize there are people who do the same thing, only they run off everyone. LOL
Funny story about your neighbors who hee-haw when they get drunk.LOL
You are really getting to be a full fledged farmer now with your garden and your livestock.
I don't remember any of our livestock in Muddy Pond or Rocky Point having much personality like this donkey does. Well, I might have to reconsider because Betsy, the cow, was sure a treasure. LOL
I think this donkey might be smitten with Bill. Not sure whether this is a jack or a jenny but it sure is a likeable little creature.

The donkey is cute and sweet Judy, very special. It sounds like you'll have a Christmas full of loving people. That is wonderful. I enjoyed seeing your photos of Hanna and hearing about her too, as well as your nephew.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.
